If yoga means 'union', Shirley understood the true meaning of that word pretty much after her first yoga session in 2002. Recognising that instant click, she decided to explore various styles of yoga including Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow, Power, Yin, Bikram and Anusara. In 2007, she completed her teacher training and became a fully-certified Hatha Yoga instructor. She is very grateful for all the guidance of her teachers along this journey.
To Shirley, yoga is about what feels right - to accept, appreciate and celebrate our successes and limitations without judging or evaluating. She believes that unlocking the real power of yoga happens when you adopt it as a lifestyle - so she asks her students to live and breathe yoga, and apply the wisdom of yoga to everyday life.
Breathe. Smile. Be happy. Namaste, Shirley |
