Class description:A dynamic practice focused on moving the body along with the breath. The experience in this class is one of fluidity and motion. Poses are generally held for short periods of time and emphasis on the rhythm of the breath is encouraged with the purpose of aligning and focusing the mind. Some pranayama, chanting and meditation may be included. Suitable for students with some yoga experience looking to have an invigorating and dynamic experience. No full inversions are included in these classes. Some preparations for inversions and Level 2 postures may be introduced, with options for Level 1 students to ease the transition from Level 1 to Level 2 classes.

A fateful day in 2002 found Daniel flat on his back in a hot yoga class. The sheer intensity of the experience cut through his mental noise, bringing him to a previously unknown place of inner calm. It was a long-lost, yet familiar feeling. Hailing from Canada, Daniel played many years of competitive and extreme sports, from ice-hockey to soccer and snowboarding. Daniel found that yoga had the ability to heal his body, bringing relief to his tight hamstrings, stiff lower back and nagging knee issues. The extreme mental and physical challenge that yoga brought him, and the clarity that followed, eclipsed any other "sport" he had tried before.

With humble thanks, Daniel would like to acknowledge all the teachers who have shared their wisdom with him: Stephen Thomas, Patrick Creelman, Kelsang Rabten, and the most important teachers of all… his students. His asana and meditation teachers taught him breath awareness to bring about an easy, natural mindfulness that is accessible to all. Daniel discovered - over many years of teaching his students in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Canada - that yoga is the perfect "meditation" for anyone who has trouble with traditional forms of meditation. Daniel has since learned to ground his yoga practice with mindfulness-based movement, designed to heal the body and open up space for deeper inner work.

Daniel's grounding presence, openness of heart, and his "Dude Abides" vibe keeps his classes vibrant and alive for his students. His sense of humour uplifts whilst his motivation to share the practice instils a warm glow to his classes - from Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Hot, Restorative, Pranayama to Meditation. He teaches student-driven classes, attentive to needs of each and every student, whether they are looking for progress in yoga asana, a deeper understanding of yogic philosophy, or simply, stress relief. Daniel views his daily life as his sadhana (practice) and takes his yoga off the matt with seva (service) - having volunteered for Habitat for Humanity (China), The Nesbitt Centre (Hong Kong), and Avalokiteśvara Trust (India) by providing recreational therapy and sport therapy for children and the needy.
